Ready for some fiery music? Finland’s Mors Subita unveil “Origin Of Fire”, their fifth full-length album to date and a celebration of heavy guitar riffs.
Starting off with death metal riffs and punchy grooves (“Into The Flame”), Finland’s Mors Subita quickly blast it all off with their fast-paced track “Fire Walk With Me”. Apart from a clean and calm intro on “Blood Eagle” and “The Killing Trend” and some electronic elements in preparation of “Regenerate”, most of the songs follow one route: directly in your face! Simply have a listen to “Vile”, an example par excellence for a balanced sound in between heavy, yet melodic death metal guitar work.
In between blast beats and their brilliant riffings there’s always a decent amount of anger within the sound of “Origin Of Fire”. Blackened by gloomy harmonies, Mors Subita’s melodic approach brings thrashy riffs in style of Lamb Of God paired with highly rhythmical drumming partly reminiscent of Gojira’s Joe Duplantier and an impactful sound similar to At The Gates. On top of that there’s a slight progressive core within the songwriting of “Origin Of Fire'' culminating in a fresh yet uncompromising metal sound - modern, yet traditional at the same time.
Those searching for a heavy-hitting metal record that doesn’t follow any trends will absolutely adore what Mors Subita brings to the table. Mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen (Meshuggah, The Haunted, Behemoth) “Origin Of Fire” ensures a heavy-hitting sound and is going to be released on 13.10.2023 via Out Of Line.
